I am delighted to introduce myself as the headteacher at Ansford Academy.

Ansford Academy is a true community school that serves the local surrounding areas of Castle Cary. We are a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school with approximately 500 students which means we are a close community, where everyone knows each other.

Staff and students work together to ensure the school is a happy environment where students enjoy their education and leave us with a strong set of GCSE results to provide lifetime opportunities.

Prior to being Headteacher, many of you will know I have worked here at Ansford Academy as Deputy Headteacher. I have worked in education for over 25 years working in a range of schools starting my career as a maths teacher in Essex and then taking on various leadership roles as I have progressed through my career.

As an educationalist I believe young people should be provided with top quality education where they feel safe and have the best opportunity to thrive with their studies. My role is to ensure the school provides the experiences required to enable our students to gain the knowledge and skills that will prepare them to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Education is about everyone achieving their best, while developing individual character and personality.

We are incredibly proud of our recent Ofsted report and is a testament to the commitment of our staff in providing a high quality education for our students.
