Headteacher Letter 4th Apr 2022
Monday 4th April 2022
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you are well and looking forward to the Easter break. Our next edition of the Families Bulletin is due out on Friday and that will contain more information and news. However, I do need to provide you with updated COVID Guidance following on from the announcement the government has made changes to the 'Living with COVID-19’ plan. As the population now has much stronger protection against COVID-19 than at any other point in the pandemic, the national approach is to manage the virus like other respiratory infections.
The key elements of the update are as follows:
From 1 April 2022, the government's guidance on living with COVID-19 replaces the DfE's operational guidance for schools
- As testing will no longer be available free of charge, routine asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended and education and childcare settings should follow the advice for the general public
- Those with a positive test result are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people. For staff this is for a period of 5 days and for students a period of 3 days
- Both staff and students should try to stay home and not attend school, avoiding contact with others if they have symptoms of a respiratory infection and a high temperature or if they feel unwell (returning to school or other normal activities when they feel well enough, and no longer have a high temperature)
Thank you for your continued support. If you do have any questions or concerns, please contact the school in the usual way: by email to email@example.com or by phone to 01963 350 895.
