Complaints against the Curriculum - Information and Guidance

Parents may complain if the academy is not:

  • providing a curriculum to meet the needs of their child

  • complying with the law on charging for academy activities

  • providing religious education and daily collective worship

  • providing statutory information

  • carrying out a statutory duty

  • acting reasonably

Parents should complain initially to the Pricipal.  If they are not satisfied they can refer it to the Governing Body.

The Role of the Governing Body

The Governing Body establishes a Complaints Committee of three governors to hear complaints,  advise the Pricipal on actions or decisions required and write to the complainant within two weeks, explaining the action taken.
