Press Release

Shonogh Pilgrim, Principal said, “We have had a fantastic morning seeing the loveliest group of students receiving their results. It was an absolute delight because so many of them have exceeded their own expectations and reaped the rewards for their commitment and hard work. Despite increased rigour at GCSE, Ansford Academy students have worked hard to achieve the qualifications they need to move on to the next stages of their lives. Without exception, they have the skills, knowledge and qualities necessary to mean they have a bright future ahead of them. I am sure that the students receiving their results would want to thank their teachers and parents for all they have done to support them to achieve of their best”.

Ansford students performed well across a wide range of subjects, achieving good grades but also making strong progress. In English 75% of them achieved grade 4 or above, while in Maths the percentage of students achieving grade 4 or above was 65%.

While the achievements of all of the students in Year 11 are to be celebrated, those of a number of students are particularly impressive:

Bronwyn Hall: 10 GCSE’s- 6 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8 and 2 at grade 7

Esme Mirzoeff: 9 GCSE’s- 5 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8 and 1 at grade B

Nancy Coulsey: 10 GCSE’s- 4 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8, 2 at grade 7 and 2 at grade 6

Megan Lee: 10 GCSE’s- 2 at grade 9, 4 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7 and at grade 6

Maya Barrow-Stacey: 10 GCSE’s- 2 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7, 2 at grade 6 and 1 at grade 5

Anna Johnston: 10 GCSE’s- 1 at grade 9, 5 at grade 8 and 3 at grade 7

Jonah Hawksley: 10 GCSE’s- 1 at grade 9, 5 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7 and 1 at grade 6

Rosie Wooldridge: 10 GCSE’s- 1 at grade 9, 3 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7, 2 at grade 6 and 1 at grade 5

We are also very proud of Carolina Oliveira, James White, Billy Smith, Annie Jeffrey, Violet Hague, Gemma Grant, Gida Correia Pereira and Alfie Ogborne who made exceptional progress across all of their subjects. All of the students achieving top grades also did so by achieving exceptional progress.
