Press Release

Shonogh Pilgrim, Principal said, “We have had a fantastic morning seeing our students receive their results. It was an absolute delight because so many of them have exceeded their own expectations and reaped the rewards for their commitment and hard work. Despite further changes to GCSE examinations and increased rigour this year, Ansford Academy students have worked hard to achieve the qualifications they need to move on to the next stages of their lives. I am sure that the students receiving their results would want to thank their teachers and parents for all they have done to support them to achieve of their best”.

Ansford students performed well across a wide range of subjects including History, Geography, Spanish, German and PE. In English 74% of them achieved grade 4 or above, while in Maths the percentage of students achieving grade 4 or above was 68%. We are particularly pleased that 45% of students achieved both English and Maths at grade 5 (strong pass) and that 30% of students achieved at least 3 top grades (9-7).

While the achievements of all of the students in Year 11 are to be celebrated, those of a number of students are particularly impressive:

Marcus Boatwright: 10 GCSE’s- 7 at grade 9, 3 at grade 8

Katie Wincott: 10 GCSE’s- 6 at grade 9, 1 at grade 8, 2 at grade 7 and 1 at grade 5

Ruben Plant: 10 GCSE’s- 4 at grade 9, 5 at grade 8 and 1 at grade 5

Daisy Bennett: 10 GCSE’s- 4 at grade 9, 3 at grade 8, 2 at grade 7 and 1B

Madison Bailey: 10 GCSE’s- 4 at grade 9, 3 at grade 8, 1 at grade 7 and 2 at grade 6

Chloe Nokes: 9 GCSE’s- 2 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8, 4 at grade 7 and 1 at grade 5

Ben Tindall: 9 GCSE’s- 1 at grade 9, 3 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7 and 2 at grade 6

Jade Docherty: 10 GCSE’s- 1 at grade 9, 2 at grade 8, 3 at grade 7 and 4 at grade 6

We are also very proud of Dylan Worth, Kiran Housden, Daisy Bradwell, Rob White, Chloe Chiverton, Adam Thorne, Lara Cox, Annabel Gilbert, Chloe Colton and Iona Darneley who made exceptional progress across all of their subjects. All of the students achieving top grades also did so by achieving exceptional progress.
