Press Release 2016

Shonogh Pilgrim, Principal said,

“Today we are celebrating an exceptional set of results with a fantastic group of students. Seeing them receive their results was an absolute delight because so many of them have exceeded their own expectations and reaped the rewards for their hard work. We are very proud of every single one of them and are happy to see them head off to pastures new with everything they need to be successful.”

In a year where the national pass rate has dramatically fallen, Ansford students have continued to excel across a wide range of subjects. In English an impressive 78% of them achieved A*-C grades. In Maths the percentage of students achieving A*-C increased to 70%, and in science 74% of students achieved A*-C grades. 67% of students achieved 5A*-C including English and Maths. An impressive 23% of all grades achieved were A* or A and 49% of students achieved at least 1 top grade. The academy performed strongly on the newly introduced headlines measures with an Attainment 8 average grade of C+ and an initial Progress 8 grade of 0.25.

While the achievements of all of the students in Year 11 are to be celebrated, those of a number of students are particularly impressive:

Joe Heath 13A* plus A in additional maths

Emily Eales 9A*, 1A

Arthur Bacini 8A*, 2A, 1B

Heidi Rossiter  6A*, 3A, 1B

Maya Kellow-Bingham  5A*, 6A

Ruby Morter 5A*, 4A, 1B

Also Molly Jones 5A*, 4A, 1C, Autumn Laskey-Downs, 3A*, 7A, 1B, Pascale Hardy Stewart 5A*, 4A, 3B, Megan Wigley  2A*, 8A, 1B, Harriet Mahoney  1A*, 9A, 1B, Elena Morgan  1A*, 8A, 1B, Chloe Thomas 3A*, 5A, 3B, Daniel Edwards 4A*, 6A, 1B, 1D.

We are also very proud of Holly Mackensie, Rebecca Wilkinson, Elliott Gale, Esme Davies, Iona Mackensie, Peter Gordon and Mac Jessop who made outstanding progress across all of their subjects.
