Governors
There are 19 members of the governing body, of whom severn are elected parents, two are elected members of staff, two are Foundation governors, six are Community governors, two are nominated by the local authority and the Principal.
The current Chair of Governors is Chris Culpin, and the Vice-Chair is Arthur Llewellyn. Both can be contacted via the academy.
The full governing body meets six times a year. Three sub-committees support the work of the governing body: Learning and Progress Committee, Personnel Committee, and Finance Committee.
Becoming a Academy Governor
When vacancies for parent governors arise the Clerk to the Governors will inform parents of children in the academy, by letter, seeking nominations.
If there are more nominations than places then a ballot of parents is held. All Governors hold their term of office for four years.
If you are interested in becoming a parent governor look out for nomination forms which are sent out when there are vacancies (there are usually one or two a year).
If you are interested in becoming a governor but are not a parent then please contact the Clerk to the Governors at the academy.
